Prakash Raj Takes Dig At Voter Roll Deletion Says You Cannot Stop Us From Bringing You Down

Actor and outspoken public figure Prakash Raj has reacted strongly after his name appeared on Karnataka’s ASDDO list during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in the state. His entry under Bangalore Central has reportedly been marked as “Permanently Shifted,” prompting the actor to post a pointed video on social media and question the larger implications of the exercise.

Sharing the video, Prakash Raj wrote, “Fraand you may chose n deny voting rights of few citizens who may not elect you back to thrown.. but can you stop us from eventually bringing you down from your thrown #justasking.” With his characteristic sarcastic tone, the actor appeared to send a political message, suggesting that restricting or removing voting rights would not prevent citizens from eventually holding those in power accountable.

The development comes as Karnataka undertakes the Special Intensive Revision of its electoral rolls, a process aimed at identifying and removing entries that are considered duplicate, fraudulent or otherwise ineligible. The exercise has, however, triggered a wider political debate, with critics raising concerns about genuine voters potentially being left out of the electoral rolls. Officials have urged voters whose names appear on affected lists to approach their Booth Level Officers and seek corrections within the prescribed process.

Prakash Raj’s reaction has added a high-profile voice to that debate. His post appears to question whether removing eligible citizens from electoral rolls could ultimately affect democratic participation. Rather than focusing only on his own case, the actor used the moment to make a broader statement about the power of voters and the ability of citizens to change governments through the ballot box.

The controversy also comes against the backdrop of a separate legal matter involving Prakash Raj over allegations that he held voter identification documents in multiple states, including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. The case dates back to 2019, and the actor was granted conditional bail in July 2026 after non-bailable warrants had been issued in connection with the matter. The legal proceedings and the current electoral-roll issue are separate developments, although both have brought his voter registration into the spotlight.

For now, affected voters have been advised to verify their details and approach the concerned election officials if they believe their names have been incorrectly flagged. With the final electoral rolls expected later this year, the issue is likely to remain under scrutiny. Prakash Raj’s latest post, meanwhile, has once again placed him at the centre of a politically charged conversation, with his closing question — whether anyone can stop citizens from eventually “bringing you down from your throne” — making his position unmistakably clear.
