Bhopal, Aug 6 (SocialNews.XYZ) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday held separate meetings with two senior Union Ministers in New Delhi, seeking greater Centre-State coordination on water management, environmental conservation and development projects.
Yadav met Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil and discussed issues related to water resource management, expansion of irrigation facilities, drinking water availability and water conservation in Madhya Pradesh.
The discussions also covered strengthening water infrastructure and ensuring effective implementation of Jal Shakti projects through closer coordination between the Centre and the state government, according to an official statement.
The Chief Minister thanked the Union government for its continued support to Madhya Pradesh’s development initiatives.
In another meeting, Yadav called on Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Labour and Employment Bhupender Yadav.
The two leaders discussed issues concerning environmental conservation, employment generation, public welfare and measures to accelerate development works in the state. They also emphasised improving coordination between the Centre and the state for effective implementation of welfare schemes.
Before these meetings, the Chief Minister attended the 7th International Renewable Energy Conference in New Delhi, where he said Madhya Pradesh was committed to contributing to India’s target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030.
Addressing the event, Yadav said Madhya Pradesh’s renewable energy capacity had increased from 438 MW to nearly 11,000 MW over the past 12 years.
He noted that the Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Project had become the first in the country to achieve a solar tariff lower than coal-based power generation. In contrast, the 1,500 MW Agar–Shajapur–Neemuch solar project achieved a tariff of Rs 2.14 per unit and is supplying green power to the Indian Railways.
He also highlighted the state’s 278 MW floating solar project, battery energy storage projects in Morena, rooftop solar installations on government buildings and the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
