Chennai, Aug 3 (SocialNews.XYZ) In a significant organisational reshuffle aimed at strengthening its public outreach ahead of key political engagements, Tamil Nadu's ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) President C. Joseph Vijay on Monday announced a major expansion of the party’s Media and Communications Wing, appointing a new team of office-bearers at the national and state levels.
The appointments are intended to streamline the party’s communication strategy and enhance coordination across traditional and digital media platforms, a party release said.
As part of the restructuring, TVK Joint General Secretary C.T.R. Nirmalkumar and Deputy General Secretary A. Rajmohan have been appointed as the party’s Chief Spokespersons.
Rajmohan has also been entrusted with the additional responsibility of heading the Media and Communications Wing.
The party has named S. Ramesh, J. Catherine Pandian, and K.C.T. Ananthajith Mahiya as coordinators to oversee the functioning of the expanded communications team.
In a move to broaden its public engagement, the TVK has also appointed seven additional Chief Spokespersons -- S.S. Vaigaichelvan, V.P. Kalairajan, C. Mahendran, Y. Jawahar Ali, and Va. Pugazhendhi, among others, who will represent the party on policy matters and political issues.
The party further strengthened its national media team by appointing eight National Spokespersons. The list includes YouTuber Felix Gerald, advocate and chartered accountant Dr M. Sathyakumar, S. Veera Vigneshwaran, M.K. Thenmozhi Prasanna, Americai V. Narayanan, advocate A. Sasirekha, Pazha Selvakumar, and Vivek Gnanathan.
At the state level, the TVK appointed 12 State Spokespersons to reinforce its presence across Tamil Nadu. Among those named are Mugil Veerappan alias M.K. Sivakumar, M. Gnana Selvin Inbaraj alias M.G.S. Inba, S. Muhammad Ibrahim alias Ravuthar Ibrahim, Jagadeesapandian, P.K. Jayakumar, D. Kandasamy, R.K. Jaleel, A. Devakumar, and M. Soundararaja, along with other party functionaries.
Recognising the growing importance of digital platforms in political communication, TVK also announced the appointment of Tamilan Rahul Gandhi alias Rahul Gandhi, S. Thyagarajan, and Nareshkumar Rajendran as State Digital Media Spokespersons.
The expansion of the Media and Communications Wing is seen as part of TVK’s broader efforts to build a structured communication network and strengthen the party’s engagement with the public through conventional and digital media as it continues to consolidate its organisational framework across the state.
