Highest number of paper leaks occurred under BJP govt, says Akhilesh Yadav

New Delhi, July 29 (SocialNews.XYZ) Samajwadi Party (SP) chief and MP Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday held the BJP-led government responsible for the rising number of examination paper leak cases, claiming that the highest number of such incidents had occurred during its tenure and that public anger over the issue had led to the large gathering of youth at Delhi's Jantar Mantar.

Speaking to reporters, Yadav questioned the effectiveness of the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, arguing that the government should first explain the action taken under the existing legislation before introducing further amendments.

"The responsibility lies with the current government. The highest number of paper leaks has occurred under the BJP's administration. The public is aware of this, and it is precisely for this reason that such a large number of young people had gathered here in Delhi," the SP chief said.

Questioning the implementation of the earlier law, Yadav asked how many people had actually been apprehended and held accountable in connection with examination paper leak cases.

"The Bill is an amendment to the existing law. How many people were actually apprehended under the previous legislation? There have been over 20 paper leak incidents in UP alone; tell us, how many individuals were caught in those cases? When the government and its allies are themselves involved in all this, then what can one expect from the law?" he questioned.

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party MPs staged a protest within the Parliament premises over the embezzlement of donations linked to the Ram Temple.

Carrying placards, the MPs raised slogans of "chanda chor, gaddi chhod" while demanding accountability in the matter.

Referring to the irregularities involving donations, Yadav linked the issue to the government's ability to safeguard the examination system and prevent paper leaks.

"The point is that those who failed to protect the 'Daan-Paatra' (donation box) and who could not safeguard the offerings made with devotion- how can one expect them to prevent paper leaks or ensure exams are not cancelled? The message is clear that those capable of trifling with faith are also trifling with the future of our youth," Yadav said.

The SP chief further intensified his attack on the ruling government, describing it as the central problem behind the issues being raised by the Opposition.

"The government itself is the biggest crisis," Yadav added.
