Bihar: Woman killed by brother-in-law in Jehanabad, accused arrested

Patna, July 29 (SocialNews.XYZ) A shocking case of domestic violence emerged from Chainpura Imadpur village under the Parsabigha police station limits in Bihar’s Jehanabad district, where a woman was allegedly hacked to death by her brother-in-law following a minor altercation on Wednesday morning.

The accused was arrested, police said.

According to police, the victim, identified as Anshu, had been married only a year earlier and was a native of Gonpura village in Arwal district’s Manikpur police station area.

The incident took place while other family members were in the nearby fields transplanting paddy.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused, Kunal Kumar, had asked his sister-in-law to serve him food. When Anshu came to serve the meal, there was some soil on her hands.

Enraged over the issue, Kunal allegedly threw her to the ground, assaulted her, and then attacked her with a sharp-edged weapon (Gandasi) lying nearby, severing her head from her torso.

The victim suffered fatal injuries and died on the spot.

The brutal murder created panic in the village, with a large number of residents gathering at the scene. Villagers informed the police, following which a team from the Parsabigha police station reached the village, took possession of the body, prepared the inquest report, and sent the remains for a post-mortem examination.

The incident left Anshu’s maternal family in deep shock. Her relatives, devastated by her death within a year of her marriage, were inconsolable.

After committing the crime, the accused fled the scene. However, acting on information, the Parsabigha police launched a raid and arrested Kunal Kumar within hours of the incident.

He was taken into police custody and interrogated.

Police registered a case under the relevant section of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and initiated further legal proceedings. The exact motive behind the murder was being investigated.
