‘I Can’t Compare Myself to Legends Like Karisma Kapoor’: Niharika NM Reacts as Raghav Juyal Eyes Govinda-Style Comedy Revival With Bhai Tera Star Hai

As Raghav Juyal speaks about bringing back the golden era of Govinda-style comedy with his upcoming entertainer Bhai Tera Star Hai, his co-star Niharika NM is keeping her feet firmly on the ground. During the film's promotional event, the debutante was asked whether she sees herself as the Karisma Kapoor to Raghav's Govinda, considering the iconic actress was synonymous with many of Govinda's biggest comedy blockbusters. Niharika responded with humility, saying she is simply trying to be herself rather than stepping into the shoes of a legend.

Responding to the comparison, Niharika said, “I think I’m just being myself in this. I don’t think I can compare myself to legends like that. I think I’ve done my best; it’s my first film, so I feel like I might be cut some slack—I did what I could. It was a great time—great script, great director, great actors. I got to shoot in London, but also dealing with zero-degree temperatures while wearing skimpy outfits; we practically turned into ice.” Her candid response drew smiles from everyone present as she reflected on the challenges of filming in freezing weather.

The social media sensation, who has built a massive fan following through her observational comedy videos and viral Instagram reels, also opened up about making her Hindi film debut. When asked about the director's brief, how she came on board, and her reaction to being offered the female lead, Niharika admitted she was pleasantly surprised by the opportunity.

Sharing her experience, she said, “Right. I was a little surprised because Hindi isn't primarily my first or even my second language. But I do speak enough of it. I’ve done a few films down South, and when we received this script, we really enjoyed it. It was so chaotic—mad and a bit wacky. As an audience member, I tend to pick scripts based on what I’d like to watch, and this seemed like something I’d enjoy seeing.” The actress added that the film's quirky humour and unpredictable storytelling convinced her to take the leap into Bollywood.

Directed by Vivek B. Agrawal, Bhai Tera Star Hai revolves around Ajay Singh (Raghav Juyal), a London-based dreamer convinced he is destined to become Bollywood's next superstar.
