New Delhi, July 26 (SocialNews.XYZ) Delhi BJP President and Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra lashed out at the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) leadership on Sunday, over its alleged hypocrisy in seeking resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, accusing it of turning a blind eye to the high-tech cheating racket unearthed in Punjab where the party is in power.
He attacked the AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal and associate Manish Sisodia, in particular over attempts to 'hijacking' the students stir at Delhi's Jantar Mantar.
Addressing reporters after Pradhan's resignation in face of students' agitation, Malhotra said: "Unfortunately, the hypocrisy of leaders like Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, who were trying to hijack this movement, is visible to everyone. Just 10 days ago, when the pharmaceutical exam paper was leaked in Punjab, they were demanding the resignation of the country's Education Minister."
On July 19, Punjab Police and Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) flying squads uncovered a high-tech interstate cheating racket during the pharmacy officer recruitment examination.
"But they themselves are in power in Punjab, and despite that the paper got leaked there too. The police brutally beat up the students there, the students get inflicted with a lot of injuries, including fractures, and still no statement is issued regarding that," Malhotra said.
The BJP MP said that Manish Sisodia had stated at Jantar Mantar that if such a thing took place in Punjab, AAP will demand the resignation of the concerned Minister and Chief Minister there.
"I just want to remind Arvind ji and Manish ji, this six-day old statement of theirs and they too should now seek the resignation of Punjab's Education Minister since they are in power there," he said.
Moreover, he said that some "miscreants" tried to hijack the students' movement in Delhi, calling it "unfortunate".
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi is sensitive to the issues of youth and students. After talks with students, a solution was worked out to their concerns," he added.
The Cockroach Janta Party-led agitation was called off on Saturday after the Centre agreed to all its demands.
Meanwhile, Delhi BJP chief also spoke about PM Modi's 136th episode of Mann Ki Baat programme, acknowledging him as the only Indian PM "who speaks to the citizens every month".
"The Prime Minister does not talk about politics, nor does he speak about what the government has done. He believes that the country's progress and development are taking place with the participation of 140 crore people," Malhotra said.
