Hyderabad, July 21 (SocialNews.XYZ) Telangana’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C. Sudharsan Reddy on Tuesday directed all district election officers (DEOs) to expedite the digitisation of enumeration forms and effectively utilise the available time to achieve targets under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
He, along with Additional CEO Vasam Venkateswar Reddy and Deputy CEO G. S. Chary, held a video conference with the Commissioner of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), the District Election Officer of Hyderabad, and all DEOs in the state.
The CEO instructed DEOs to ensure close supervision by Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), BLO Supervisors, and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) for timely completion of SIR activities. He emphasised transparency and proper documentation of meetings with political parties.
Special attention was directed towards urban pockets and Assembly constituencies showing lower progress. DEOs were asked to ensure inclusion of VVIP and VIP electors in the rolls.
“Ensure that BLOs do not insist on physical enumeration forms if electors have already submitted them online. BLOs should also not insist on Aadhaar cards for submission,” the CEO said.
He told officials to facilitate electors in submitting forms, promptly address grievances, and carefully verify ASD (Absent, Shifted, Dead) cases while maintaining accurate records.
Officials were asked to strengthen field-level monitoring and coordinate closely with supervisory officers to ensure the smooth implementation of SIR-2026. Rationalisation of polling stations must be completed within the stipulated timeline, he added.
The CEO reviewed district-wise progress on unmapped electors, polling stations with less than 50 per cent progress, and uncollected forms. He instructed DEOs to ensure their districts cross 90 per cent completion of the enumeration process by the end of this week and emphasised thorough verification of “No mapping” electors.
All officials were directed to work in a coordinated manner to ensure smooth and timely completion of SIR-2026. Nodal Officers and members of the Technical Team also attended the video conference.
