Jaipur, July 21 (SocialNews.XYZ) Travel on national highways passing through Jaipur has become costlier after the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) revised charges at key toll plazas.
The new toll rates came into effect from midnight on Monday, with increases ranging from Rs 5 to Rs 30, depending on the category of vehicle.
The revised rates are applicable at the Manoharpur Toll Plaza on the Jaipur-Delhi (Old NH-48) route, Sitarampura Toll Plaza on the Ajmer-Agra Ring Road, and Tatiawas Toll Plaza on the Jaipur-Sikar Bypass.
Private vehicle owners travelling between Jaipur and Delhi will now have to pay higher toll charges.
At the Manoharpur Toll Plaza, the toll for cars, jeeps, and vans has been increased by Rs 5, while charges for light commercial vehicles, buses, and heavy commercial vehicles have been raised by Rs 5 to Rs 30, depending on the vehicle category.
At the Shahjahanpur Toll Plaza, another major toll point on the Jaipur-Delhi route, the toll for cars, jeeps, and vans has increased from Rs 195 to Rs 215, resulting in an additional Rs 20 charge.
With the revised rates at both toll plazas, a one-way trip between Jaipur and Delhi will now cost Rs 25 more for private vehicle users.
The toll revision has also been implemented at the Tatiawas Toll Plaza on the Jaipur-Sikar Bypass and the Sitarampura Toll Plaza on the Ajmer-Agra Ring Road. However, at these two toll plazas, the revised rates apply only to commercial vehicles, including trucks, buses, and other heavy vehicles.
Toll charges for private vehicles remain unchanged at Tatiawas and Sitarampura. The latest revision is expected to increase transportation costs for commercial operators while making road travel slightly more expensive for commuters using the Jaipur-Delhi highway.
Following the implementation of the revised toll rates, charges for cars, jeeps, taxis, minibuses, buses, and commercial vehicles have increased by 8 per cent to 12 per cent across key toll plazas on highways passing through Jaipur. The hike has made travel on the Jaipur-Delhi National Highway (NH-48) more expensive, adding to the transportation costs of commuters and businesses alike.
Private vehicle owners travelling between Jaipur and Delhi will now have to pay Rs 395 in one-way toll charges, up from the earlier Rs 375. The increase is expected to impact daily commuters, business travellers, tourists, and families heading to Delhi or popular destinations such as Khatu Shyamji.
The revised toll rates also apply to heavy commercial vehicles, trucks, buses, and other transport vehicles. Industry experts believe the higher toll charges could lead to an increase in freight costs, logistics expenses, and inter-state bus fares on the Jaipur-Delhi route in the coming weeks.
