Bhopal/Indore, July 20 (SocialNews.XYZ) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday met the family members of Urmila Saini, a postal department employee who was allegedly murdered by her husband in Indore earlier this month, and announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh for the education and future of her two children.
The meeting took place at the Madhya Pradesh Assembly in Bhopal, where Saini’s daughter Preksha Saini, accompanied by her maternal grandfather Satyanarayan Malakar and other family members, met the Chief Minister.
Expressing his condolences, Yadav assured the family that the state government would stand by them in their difficult time and provide all possible support.
He announced that Rs 5 lakh would be deposited as fixed deposits in the names of Saini’s two children. The interest earned on the deposits will be used for their school and higher education expenses.
“The children should not suffer because of this tragedy. The government will ensure that their education continues uninterrupted and will provide every possible assistance to the family,” the Chief Minister said in a statement.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Yadav also assured the family that the government would remain with them whenever they needed support.
Urmila Saini (38) was working as a postal assistant and lived in the Postal Department’s residential quarters in Indore. She was allegedly murdered at her residence on July 10.
Police have accused her husband, Akhilesh Saini, of killing her with a sharp-edged weapon before fleeing the spot.
Later, the body of Akhilesh Saini, accused of murdering his wife, was found on the railway tracks near Ganjbasoda two days ago. Family members have alleged that the accused frequently doubted his wife’s character, leading to repeated quarrels.
Police have registered a murder case and announced a reward for information leading to the arrest of the accused.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government was committed to supporting families affected by such tragedies and would ensure that Saini’s children receive the assistance needed to secure their education and future.
