Hyderabad, July 18 (SocialNews.XYZ) Late director KK's eagerly awaited period crime drama 'KJQ' (King Jackie Queen), featuring actors Dheekshith Shetty, Shashi Odela and Yukti Thareja in the lead, will hit screens worldwide on August 7, its makers have now announced.
Production house SLV Cinemas, which is producing the film, took to its X timeline to make the announcement.
It wrote, "You are not ready for this game. #KJQ grand release worldwide on August 7. #KJQonAug7 #KingJackieQueen."
For the unaware, 'KJQ' is a period crime drama set against the backdrop of the 1990s, promising an engaging narrative packed with intense drama and nostalgia.
The film features Dheekshith Shetty, who won widespread appreciation for his standout performance in 'Dasara' and 'The Girlfriend', in the lead along with newcomer Shashi Odela and actress Yukti Thareja.
The film was written and directed by late KK who passed away last year.
Sources close to the unit of the film claim that this film will be a celebration of the late director's craft and passion for cinema.
Last year, Telugu star Nani had launched a teaser of the film much to the delight of fans and film buffs.
The teaser launched by Nani begins with a dialogue from Dheekshith Shetty, who plays a character called Raju in the film. He says, "A city and a gun are the same - they obey the one in whose hands they are." Shashi Odela is introduced as 'Jockey', a character who believes in taking big risks to achieve greatness while Yukti Tareja is seen as 'Rani' and the teaser ends with a biblical note: "He who lives by the sword shall die by the sword - Matthew 26:52 ."
The release date poster put out by the makers now presents the film's three principal characters in a split-frame composition. At the centre stands Shashi with an unwavering, piercing gaze that reflects determination and intensity. On the left, Deekshith is seen aiming a gun, hinting at explosive confrontations and life-threatening stakes. On the right, Yukti appears with a cigarette in hand and an enigmatic expression, adding an air of mystery.
The film is backed by an excellent technical team. It has some brilliant visuals shot by cinematographer Nagesh Banell and an intense musical score by Poornachandra Tejaswi. Shravan Katikaneni has handled the editing of this film, while Srikanth Ramishetty has handled its production design.
