RJD MP Abhay Kushwaha dismisses BJP rumours, reaffirms loyalty to Lalu Prasad and Tejashwi Yadav

RJD MP Abhay Kushwaha dismisses BJP rumours, reaffirms loyalty to Lalu Prasad and Tejashwi Yadav

Patna, July 17 (SocialNews.XYZ) Amid growing political speculation over his alleged proximity to Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP from Aurangabad, Abhay Kushwaha, has categorically denied rumours of joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Addressing a press conference, Kushwaha reaffirmed his commitment to the RJD and its leadership, stating that he remains firmly with Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav.

Clarifying the controversy surrounding his recent meeting with the Chief Minister, Kushwaha said the interaction was purely related to development projects in his parliamentary constituency and should not be viewed through a political lens.

“The Chief Minister represents the entire state, not any particular party or caste. I met him only to discuss development works in my constituency. There is nothing political about the meeting,” Kushwaha said.

The RJD Parliamentary Party leader highlighted his long association with socialist politics, saying his political journey began with the ideals of the Rashtriya Janata Dal.

He recalled serving as the Mukhiya (Panchayat head) for ten years, later becoming an MLA from Tikari, and now representing Aurangabad in the Lok Sabha.

Kushwaha emphasised that he has consistently followed the ideology of Lalu Prasad Yadav and declared that the RJD would remain his final political destination.

“Rashtriya Janata Dal is my last political party. There is no question of leaving it. The party has shown me immense respect by appointing me as the leader of the parliamentary party and entrusting me with important responsibilities. I will continue to honour that trust,” he said.

Rejecting speculation about any future political switch, he added that not only for the next Lok Sabha election but even in the future, he cannot imagine being in any party other than the RJD. He stressed that meeting the Chief Minister for development work should not be politicised.

Explaining the purpose of his meeting with the Chief Minister, Kushwaha said he discussed several infrastructure projects to improve connectivity in the region.

These include a proposed road connecting Banke Bazar in Gaya district to Madanpur through the forest area, as well as the long‑pending demand to upgrade State Highway and National Highway‑139 into a four‑lane corridor.

He maintained that seeking the Chief Minister’s support for developmental initiatives is part of an elected representative’s responsibility and should not be misconstrued as an indication of political realignment.
