CM Rekha Gupta discusses roadmap for making Delhi a global tourism hub

New Delhi, July 17 (SocialNews.XYZ) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday interacted with policymakers, industry representatives and sector experts on the national capital's tourism vision with the aim of making it a world-class hub.

Highlighting steps taken by the Delhi government in the past one year to promote tourism and cultural activities, the Chief Minister said, "We created a single-window system. We have also reduced the booking rates of all stadiums. We helped ensure convenience for people."

"Earlier, people faced difficulties due to multiple agencies in Delhi. We brought it under a single window. Today, people are organising grand events in a very convenient manner," she added.

"Delhi is like a mini-India, a small representation of the country where people from every state live. There is no state whose people do not reside here in large numbers. Not just people, but their traditions and rich culture also thrive here. Delhi is the only city where the traditions of people from every state are preserved. The wonderful food from every state is also available here in great variety," she said.

In a message on social media platform X, Chief Minister Gupta said, "At the FAITH Tourism Conclave 2026, we engaged in meaningful dialogue on Delhi's tourism vision with policymakers, industry representatives, and experts from the tourism sector."

"Under the leadership of the Prime Minister @narendramodiji, we are moving forward with the resolve to make Delhi a world-class tourism hub. Let us all come together to give Delhi's heritage, culture, and hospitality a new global identity. Heartiest congratulations to the entire ADTOI team for this successful event," she wrote.

Earlier in May, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta shared her vision for developing the national capital as a leading global tourism destination, moving beyond being seen merely as a transit point.

Addressing a tourism stakeholder's conference, she said, "It is time we position Delhi not just as a stopover, but as a destination city where tourists stay longer, immerse themselves in experiences, and keep coming back."

She also interacted with stakeholders on a wide range of issues from tourism and hospitality to heritage, spiritual, digital, medical, and wellness tourism, as well as night tourism, and discussed Delhi's brand positioning.

The conference was attended by Delhi's Minister for Art, Culture, and Tourism, Kapil Mishra, the Managing Director of the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) and several experts from the tourism and allied sectors.

Chief Minister Gupta said the active participation of industry stakeholders, policymakers, and domain experts had led to several concrete and actionable suggestions.
