
Lucknow, July 7 (SocialNews.XYZ) A Special CBI Court in Lucknow on Tuesday sentenced three accused to life imprisonment with a total fine of Rs 1.5 lakh for advocate Inder Dev Singh’s murder in 2002, an official said.
The court punished Vikram Yadav @ Vikram Kalia, Brijesh Yadav @ Munna and Panna Singh @ Paana in connection with the 2002 murder, said a CBI official in a statement.
The instant case, about the murder of Inder Dev Singh, was initially registered with Police Station Kaisar Bagh, Lucknow, on August 8, 2002, based on a written complaint by the wife of the deceased, the CBI said.
Subsequently, upon the Uttar Pradesh government transferring the case to the CBI, the probe agency registered the case on September 4, 2002, by taking over the FIR of Police Station Kaisar Bagh, Lucknow.
After completion of the investigation, the CBI filed a chargesheet on August 7, 2003, against six accused persons - Manna Lal Verma, Ved Prakash Lohia, Panna Singh, Vikaram Singh, Chhote Lal @ Chhotu Yadav, and Brijesh Kumar Yadav.
The Special CBI Court, after the trial, convicted three accused, Vikram Yadav@ Vikram Kalia, Brijesh Yadav @Munna, Panna Singh @Paana on June 30 and sentenced them on July 7, 2026.
The Court abated trial proceedings against Manna Lal Verma, Ved Prakash Lohia, Chhote Lal @ Chhotu Yadav owing to their demise, the CBI said in a statement.
In a separate case, a Special CBI Court in Pune convicted and sentenced two proprietors of private companies to three years' rigorous imprisonment for bank fraud involving a wrongful loss of more than Rs 5.5 crore to the State Bank of Hyderabad, an official said.
The convicted persons are Chandrakant Lodha, proprietor of Chandrakant S. Lodha & Co., and Paresh Thakkar, proprietor of Thakkar and Sons. The court pronounced the judgment on Monday, the CBI official said.
