Moushumi Chatterjee demands justice after shocking Mumbai local train murder

Mumbai, July 2 (SocialNews.XYZ) Veteran actress Moushumi Chatterjee has reacted strongly to the recent shocking murder on a Mumbai local train.

Mayank Lohar was killed on board a Mumbai suburban local train following an argument over whether the doors of the overcrowded coach should remain open amid heavy rainfall. On Thursday, Moushumi took to social media to condemn the brutal incident, expressing her shock and outrage over the shocking act of violence. Calling the act “disturbing and disgusting,” she also highlighted the lack of immediate help from fellow passengers during the tragedy.

Moushumi Chatterjee posted the image of the 22-year-old Mumbai man on her X handle and wrote, “Sad To Hear About What Happened To a Young Boy Named Mayank Lohar. Stabbed, All Because Of a Dispute To Close A Door. I am Disturbed And Disgusted. Not One Person On That Train Tried To Help Him. His Family Must Be Devastated. Praying For Justice For This Boy & His Family.” (sic)

The victim, identified as Mayank Lohar, a Virar resident, was travelling in the first-class coach of Train No. 90663 when the incident took place between Andheri and Borivali stations. Lohar, who worked as a salesman at a private firm in Andheri, was reportedly returning home after finishing work.

According to the Government Railway Police (GRP), both Lohar and the accused were travelling in the same compartment after the train left Churchgate at 10:05 pm. As heavy rain continued to lash the city, Lohar allegedly asked the accused to close the train door, which led to a heated argument between them. During the altercation, the accused is said to have pulled out a sharp weapon and stabbed Lohar in the abdomen, causing severe injuries.

After a three-day search operation, the Mahim Police have arrested the suspect accused of carrying out a deadly knife attack on 35-year-old Naveen Prasanna outside Mahim Railway Station in Mumbai, following a minor dispute. The accused, identified as 19-year-old Anas Ansari, was apprehended from the Wadala area of Mumbai. However, the weapon allegedly used in the attack is still missing, and police teams are continuing efforts to recover it.
