Jaipur, June 30 (SocialNews.XYZ) The court has granted permission to Pappu Gurjar, the younger brother of slain dacoit Jagan Gurjar, to attend his last rites under tight security.
Pappu Gurjar, who is also lodged in the Ajmer High Security Jail, had moved an application seeking permission to perform his brother's final rites.
The court approved the request after hearing the prison administration's application.
On the day of the funeral, Pappu Gurjar will be escorted under heavy police security to his ancestral village in Rajasthan's Dholpur district.
Circle Officer (CO) Manish Badgurjar said Jagan Gurjar's family members are staging a sit-in protest over their demands, which have been conveyed to senior police officials.
He added that discussions with the deceased dacoit's family are ongoing.
The post-mortem examination will be conducted under the supervision of a medical board.
Ajmer Civil Lines Police have registered a murder case based on a complaint filed by the prison administration and have begun their investigation.
A towel recovered from the crime site has been seized as evidence.
The Police on Tuesday recorded statements of Deputy Jail Superintendent Bhanwar Singh and other prison personnel who were on duty at the time of the incident.
Investigators also inspected the crime site and said further action would depend on the post-mortem findings and other evidence.
Jagan Gurjar was allegedly murdered inside Ajmer High-Security Jail on Monday.
Vishnu, an undertrial accused in the high-profile Kuldeep Jaghina murder case from Bharatpur, has been named as the prime accused.
According to prison officials, both inmates were housed in the same barrack.
Around 3 p.m. on Monday, when the barrack was opened as part of the daily routine, Vishnu came out with other inmates, while Jagan remained inside in an unconscious state.
Prison staff immediately rushed to the spot and called doctors, who declared him dead.
The body was later shifted to the mortuary at the JLN Hospital in Ajmer, where security has been heightened.
Meanwhile, Jagan Gurjar's son, Asaram Gurjar, has levelled serious allegations over the killing.
He submitted a memorandum addressed to Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma through Tehsildar Om Singh Lakhawat and Circle Officer Manish Badgurjar, demanding a fair and judicial inquiry.
Asaram Gurjar alleged that his father's death was not simply the result of an assault by a fellow inmate but part of a larger conspiracy involving alleged collusion between prison officials and other inmates.
He has sought an impartial investigation to establish accountability.
Jagan Gurjar had been shifted from Dholpur District Jail to Ajmer High-Security Jail on March 29, 2026, following orders issued by the Directorate General of Prisons.
