Lucknow, June 29 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Baba Saheb Ambedkar Mahasabha has firmly denied any speculation regarding the relocation of the Asthi Kalash of Bharat Ratna B.R. Ambedkar.
In a press release issued on Monday, the Mahasabha's General Secretary, Amarnath Prajapati, clarified that there is no proposal or process underway to shift the sacred relics from their current place of reverence.
According to Prajapati, the "Asthi Kalash" was originally established at the Mahasabha premises by Savita Ambedkar, the wife of Baba Saheb. Since then, it has remained a symbol of respect and remembrance for followers of Ambedkar's ideals.
"The Asthi Kalash of Baba Saheb, which was placed here by Mai Saheb Savita Ambedkar, will continue to remain at the Ambedkar Mahasabha. There is no question of its relocation," Prajapati stated in the release.
The clarification comes amid rumours that the relics might be moved to another location. Such speculation had caused concern among Ambedkar's followers, who regard the Asthi Kalash as a sacred reminder of his struggle for social justice, equality, and empowerment of marginalised communities.
The Mahasabha's statement aims to dispel these doubts and reassure the public that the sanctity of the site will be preserved.
B.R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution, is revered across India for his lifelong dedication to the upliftment of Dalits and other oppressed groups.
His teachings continue to inspire movements for equality and dignity. The Asthi Kalash, therefore, holds immense emotional and cultural significance for millions of people.
By reiterating its commitment to safeguard the relics, the Ambedkar Mahasabha has underlined its role as a custodian of Ambedkar's legacy.
The organisation emphasised that the Kalash will remain "as is" at the Mahasabha premises, serving as a focal point for remembrance and homage.
With this clarification, the Mahasabha hopes to dispel any misinformation and reaffirm its dedication to honouring Baba Saheb's memory as envisioned by Savita Ambedkar.
