Miscreants throw petrol bomb at clinic of BJP leader’s husband close to RSS office in Bathinda

Chandigarh, June 23 (SocialNews.XYZ) Ahead of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s visit on Tuesday, two motorcycle-borne miscreants threw a petrol bomb at the clinic of Tarsem Garg in Bathinda city. The clinic is located opposite to the RSS office. However, no loss of life has been reported. Garg’s wife had recently contested the Bathinda Municipal Corporation elections as a nominee of BJP.

A scooter parked in the courtyard was partially burnt in the incident, said the police.

Garg told the police that he got a call from his driver and accountant who were in the clinic that someone had thrown a petrol bottle at the clinic.

A CCTV footage showed two people, who came on a bike, threw the petrol bottle at the clinic.

Superintendent of Police (City) Narinder Singh told the media that teams have been formed to trace and arrest the accused.

An FIR has been registered at the Kotwali police station.

Senior Superintendent of Police Jyoti Yadav said the CIA team and forensic experts have collected samples from the site.

“It appears that some miscreants carried out the attack. The investigation is underway.”

The police have secured footage from nearby CCTV cameras and initiated an investigation.

Recordings from the clinic and surrounding establishments are being scrutinised to identify the attackers.

Authorities are also investigating whether a personal vendetta or a political dispute, or any other motive was the cause of the crime.

Officials state that efforts are underway to apprehend the accused soon, relying on CCTV footage and other technical evidence.

Security arrangements in the area have also been stepped up. The Chief Minister is scheduled to hold three public meetings in Bathinda district on Tuesday.
