Vadnagar (Mehsana), June 23 (SocialNews.XYZ) Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel visited Prerna Sankul in Vadnagar on Tuesday, using the occasion of the state-wide 'Shala Praveshotsav' enrolment drive to review an educational initiative developed at the historic school where Prime Minister Narendra Modi received his early education.
After participating in enrolment-related programmes in Mehsana district, Patel toured the Prerna Sankul campus, where he inspected educational facilities and observed a range of academic and creative activities undertaken by students.
During the visit, he interacted with students and sought detailed information about the institution’s teaching methods and day-to-day educational activities.
Prerna Sankul has been created through the restoration and redevelopment of the historic primary school building in Vadnagar that served as PM Modi’s alma mater.
Established in 1888, the school has been renovated and repurposed as a modern experiential learning centre.
The project aims to encourage values-based learning and inspire students through lessons drawn from development, leadership and social transformation.
Officials briefed the Chief Minister on the functioning of the programme, which combines classroom learning with activity-based and experiential education.
The campus is equipped with modern facilities designed to support interactive learning and student participation.
The institution’s curriculum is structured around nine core values of daily life and seeks to provide students with opportunities to develop leadership qualities, civic awareness and a sense of responsibility.
The programme also serves as a platform for cultural and educational exchange by bringing together students and teachers from districts across India.
During his interaction with students, Patel took interest in the creative projects and activities being carried out on the campus and reviewed the educational approach adopted by the institution.
He was informed about how the programme encourages students from diverse backgrounds to learn together and share experiences.
Prerna Sankul has emerged as a national-level educational initiative that connects participants from across the country through a common learning framework.
By integrating heritage, values-based education and modern teaching practices, the centre seeks to provide an environment where students can engage in experiential learning while interacting with peers from different regions of India.
The Chief Minister’s visit formed part of his engagements during the statewide 24th Shala Praveshotsav campaign, which focuses on encouraging school enrolment and strengthening educational participation across Gujarat.
