New Delhi, June 21 (SocialNews.XYZ) Returning from Kolkata after leading the main event on the 12th International Yoga Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chose to wait for some time at the Delhi Airport so as to not disrupt traffic arrangements that were in place for the NEET-UG 2026 examination, according to reports.
PM Modi landed at the airport at around 1.15 p.m. and was scheduled to leave for his official residence directly from there.
However, as the NEET examination was scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., the Prime Minister decided to remain at the airport in order to ensure that students would not face any inconvenience in reaching their examination centres.
His decision was also aimed at ensuring hassle-free traffic movement. He departed for his residence only after the examination had commenced at 2 p.m.
Meanwhile, with elaborate security measures in place, more than 20 lakh students across the nation and world are currently appearing for the NEET-UG re-exam.
Previously, several candidates who had gathered outside examination centres in various parts of the country for the national-level medical exam, told IANS that they are sceptical about their preparation following the alleged May 3 paper leak.
Earlier in the morning, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan wished the aspirants, assuring them to sit for the exams without any worry.
He had also mentioned that the results of more than 15 lakh students who had applied for re-evaluation of their CBSE Class 12 board exam marks are ready and will soon be released by the organisation.
Addressing reporters, the Education Minister said: "Today, the re-examination is going to be held. I have full faith in the National Testing Agency (NTA), all state governments, district administrations, India's education system, and especially the students."
"Nearly 22 lakh students will soon sit for the NEET exam. Sit without fear, without worry. You will surely do well. My best wishes to all students. The students have faith in India's system; I hope this unwavering trust continues," he added.
However, Pradhan warned against anyone attempting to "play with the future" of India's new generation.
