Bihar: Deceased NEET student’s family questions CBI probe

Patna, June 16 (SocialNews.XYZ) The family of the deceased NEET student from Jehanabad has publicly expressed dissatisfaction with the ongoing investigation being conducted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), alleging delays and lack of impartiality in the probe.

During a press conference in Patna, the victim’s mother demanded justice for her daughter and alleged that the case involved murder. She said those responsible should receive the strictest punishment, including the death penalty.

The victim’s mother announced that beginning June 17, she intends to visit the residences of political leaders in Patna from both ruling and opposition parties. According to her statement, she plans to present a list of 21 questions related to the investigation and seek answers from political leaders.

She said that if satisfactory responses are not provided, she would take the matter to the people of Bihar and organise a broader public movement. She alleged that several leaders who had earlier visited the family and promised justice after her daughter’s death have now fallen silent.

The mother said her campaign is not only for her daughter but also for young women who travel to Patna and aspire to become doctors and engineers.

Individuals accompanying the victim’s mother at the press conference raised several allegations regarding the CBI investigation. They claimed that the agency has not acted impartially, a charge sheet was not filed within the period allegedly directed by the court, statements of the victim’s family have not yet been properly recorded, the accused’s DNA sample should have been collected first, and the family is allegedly being repeatedly called and pressured for DNA samples.

The group also alleged that attempts were being made to weaken or sideline the case. The family and supporters stated they would approach the residences of ministers, political leaders and public representatives across Bihar to demand an impartial investigation.

They also indicated plans to meet senior Bihar leaders, including Samrat Choudhary, and urged political parties to raise the issue in the State legislature.

The controversy surrounding the case has continued to generate political debate in Bihar, with demands for transparency and accountability in the investigation intensifying.
