Hyderabad, June 15 (SocialNews.XYZ) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. Taraka Rama Rao said on Monday that Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s failure to secure approval for Hyderabad Metro Phase II reflects the inefficiency of his government.
Rama Rao accused him of resorting to desperate antics and spreading falsehoods to mask his incompetence in failing to secure the Centre's approval.
KTR, as the BRS leader is popularly known, demanded that Revanth Reddy first explain to the public why he failed to bring the Metro project to Hyderabad, while the Centre was sanctioning Metro projects for cities like those in Uttar Pradesh, Ahmedabad and Visakhapatnam.
He criticised Revanth Reddy, noting that, despite making 71 trips to Delhi, his failure to convince his “Big Brother” (a reference to the BJP leadership) to approve the project is a glaring example of his inept administration.
He remarked that Revanth Reddy lacks the courage and mettle to criticise the Centre, and specifically the Prime Minister, for denying approval to the state’s proposed Metro expansion.
KTR alleged that this situation arose because Revanth Reddy entered into “secret pacts” with the BJP out of fear that the noose of the “Vote‑for‑Note” case against him was tightening. Consequently, instead of criticising the BJP at the Centre, Revanth Reddy is making a despicable attempt to mislead the public by targeting the BRS, which is in opposition in Telangana.
He stated that Revanth Reddy’s repeated visits to Delhi yield no results precisely because of a covert understanding he has with the BJP. He demanded that Revanth Reddy answer to the people of Hyderabad for his incompetence regarding this issue.
He pointed out that the public can clearly see the contrast. Under KCR’s capable leadership, approvals and loans were secured at a rapid pace, whereas under this “pathetic” administration, everything has come to a standstill, he said.
KTR remarked that Revanth Reddy’s true nature was exposed when he himself admitted that people in Delhi look at him as if he were a “slipper thief.” He stated that the four crore people of Telangana have realised that he is incapable of doing anything other than constantly attacking the BRS and KCR.
He ridiculed the claim that BRS was blocking central funds, noting that such an assertion indirectly implied that KCR was more powerful than Prime Minister Narendra Modi. KTR warned that the Chief Minister must immediately offer an unconditional apology for failing miserably to secure the Metro Phase II project and for jeopardising Phase I; otherwise, he and his party would face total ruin in a cosmopolitan city like Hyderabad, which he described as a “Mini India.”
