MP CM to release 37th Ladli Behna instalment, launch projects worth Rs 190 crore

Bhopal, June 13 (SocialNews.XYZ) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will transfer the 37th instalment of the Ladli Behna Yojana to beneficiaries on Sunday during a state‑level programme in Kesli town of Sagar district.

Under the flagship women’s welfare scheme, an amount of Rs 1,835 crore will be transferred directly into the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, according to an official statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office on Saturday.

The Chief Minister will also inaugurate and lay foundation stones for 53 development projects worth about Rs 190.85 crore in the Deori Assembly constituency. These include the Bhoomi Poojan of 28 projects valued at Rs 122.02 crore and the inauguration of 25 projects worth Rs 68.83 crore.

According to the CMO, the projects cover key sectors including roads, education, healthcare, power supply, water resources, Panchayat and Rural Development, and Technical Education. The government expects the works to strengthen basic infrastructure and improve access to public services in the Deori and Kesli development blocks.

Launched in June 2023 by the then Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Ladli Behna Yojana has emerged as one of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government’s most significant welfare initiatives aimed at enhancing the economic empowerment of women.

The scheme initially provided eligible women with financial assistance of Rs 1,000 per month, which was later increased to Rs 1,250, and further increased to Rs 1,500 from October 2025. The programme currently benefits more than 1.27 crore women across the state and has become a key pillar of the government’s social welfare agenda.

The scheme also carries a larger political and policy commitment. During its launch, Chouhan had announced that the monthly assistance would be gradually increased to Rs 3,000. The BJP government has repeatedly reiterated its commitment to achieving that target in a phased manner, though no specific timeline has yet been announced.

The Kesli programme is expected to witness the participation of a large number of women beneficiaries, public representatives and residents from Sagar district and adjoining areas.
