Niti Aayog: Haryana CM stresses need to focus on skill development, employment generation

New Delhi, June 12 (SocialNews.XYZ) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday stressed the need to focus on skill development, employment generation, entrepreneurship and human resource development.

At the NITI Aayog meeting here, CM Saini presented several demands related to Haryana’s development. He urged the Central government to include Haryana among the first 50 industrial parks to be developed under its ambitious industrial development scheme.

The Chief Minister also sought a special incentive package to develop Haryana as a semiconductor, data centre and electronics manufacturing hub. Further, he requested the establishment of a national-level AI Centre of Excellence in the state and a special Central package for the development of AI and Global Capability Centre (GCC) hubs.

He also sought additional Central assistance for Industrial Model Townships, sector-specific industrial parks, green hydrogen projects and renewable energy initiatives. He emphasised the need to accord priority to Haryana under the National Innovation and Research Fund.

Addressing the meeting, CM Saini said the meeting was taking place at a time “when India, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is moving rapidly towards the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047 during the Amrit Kaal period”.

He said over the past 12 years, a new India has emerged. The decisive decisions taken by PM Modi during challenging situations in the Middle East have demonstrated India’s growing strength on the global stage”.

Saini said Haryana has prepared its Vision Document 2047 in line with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. “The state’s goal is to contribute more than $1 trillion to the Indian economy by 2047 and raise per capita income to over Rs 40 lakh.”

CM Saini said the foundation for developing human capital was laid through the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, introduced by PM Modi. Haryana became the first state in the country to implement the policy.

To boost school enrolment and awareness about early education, the state organised 17,859 School Readiness Fairs, in which over 2 lakh children and 2.5 lakh parents participated.

The Super-100 Scheme, launched in 2018, has been highly successful in helping meritorious students gain admission to premier higher education institutions. “Over the last five years, 267 students under the scheme have secured admission to IITs, NITs and medical colleges.”

To ensure quality education in government schools, Haryana has established 250 PM SHRI Schools and 218 Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary Schools. Taking this initiative further, the state government has set up 250 CM EEE (Chief Minister Efficiency and Early English) Schools this year.

Providing higher education opportunities to girls remains a key priority. To achieve this, the state has ensured the establishment of a college within every 20-km radius. Currently, 61 women’s colleges are functioning in Haryana.

The Chief Minister emphasised that Haryana is committed to developing human capital and is working with full seriousness to achieve this objective.
