Hyderabad, June 10 (SocialNews.XYZ) Cyberabad police cracked the murder case of a woman with the arrest of her husband, who hired a gang from Bihar to kill her.
Police arrested Anil Kumar Sah, a native of Bihar, who paid Rs 2 lakh to the gang to kill his wife, Mina Devi (36). One member of the hired gang has also been arrested.
The woman was murdered on the night of May 30, 2026, on the outskirts of Gandigudam village in the limits of IDA Bollaram Police Station.
Anil Kumar Sah had told police that when he and his wife were returning home on his bike from the vegetable market, the vehicle broke down near a meter factory.
He claimed that suddenly three unknown persons came from the roadside bushes, dragged his wife into the bushes, and killed her. He alleged that when he tried to save her, the accused attacked him and caused injuries before escaping on his bike.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Ch. Srinivas told media on Wednesday that the husband of the deceased created the scene as if some unknown accused had abducted her, sexually assaulted, and killed her. He managed superficial cut injuries on his hands and back to give the impression that he sustained them during a scuffle with the accused to mislead the public and police.
On receipt of the complaint from the deceased’s brother, Sonu Lal Kumar, a case was registered.
Police had formed eight teams to investigate the case. After a thorough investigation, including interrogation of Anil Kumar, the police arrested him for the murder.
Investigation revealed that the husband bore a grudge against his wife, as she had been taking all his earnings and sending them to her parents for the last three years. Moreover, after he met with an accident and physically became weak, she neglected him, due to which he decided to eliminate her.
The husband, who knew the hired gang leader Rinku Kumar and his criminal background, offered Rs 2 lakh to kill his wife. Rinku Kumar agreed and, along with his two associates, Ranjan and Neeraj, reached Hyderabad on May 29, met Anil Kumar, planned the murder, and executed it on the night of May 30. After committing the offence, the accused took away the bike, abandoned it on the city outskirts, and fled to Bihar in a private bus.
Police arrested Ranjan at his native place, Chanpatia in Bettiah district, West Champaran, and brought him on a transit warrant. Efforts are on to arrest the remaining accused, Rinku and Neeraj.
