PM Modi's 12-year leadership has taken India to new heights of development: Maha Dy CM

Mumbai, June 9 (SocialNews.XYZ) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has surpassed the tenure milestone of former Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, delivering highly successful leadership over the past twelve years.

Interacting with the media, Shinde highlighted that under PM Modi’s stewardship, India has made giant strides across key sectors, including development, economy, national security, and public welfare.

Describing PM Modi as a leader with an unblemished record who works tirelessly without taking a single day off, Shinde noted that the Prime Minister enjoys immense popularity not just within the country but globally.

“He holds several world records and has successfully elevated India’s global image by establishing friendly relations with various nations,” Shinde added.

The Deputy CM pointed out that since 2014, PM Modi has securely guided the nation on the path of rapid development.

“India’s economy has risen from the 11th position to the 4th, and is now rapidly progressing towards becoming the 3rd largest economy in the world. At a time when several global economies are facing a severe crisis, India has maintained robust economic growth,” he said. Shinde expressed confidence that PM Modi is driving the nation toward becoming an economic superpower to realise the vision of a developed India by 2047.

“Prior to 2014, the country was plagued by mega-scams and corruption. However, during the Modi government’s tenure, the opposition has failed to prove even a single case of corruption. This has firmly established PM Modi’s identity as a ‘spotless Prime Minister,’” he remarked.

Addressing national security, Shinde recalled an incident in Pahalgam where Pakistan attempted to outrage the dignity of Indian citizens.

He emphasised that under Modi’s decisive leadership, the Indian Army retaliated swiftly, hitting the enemy in their own backyard. Criticising previous administrations, Shinde stated that while many raised the slogan of “Garibi Hatao” (Eradicate Poverty) in the past, the Modi government translated it into reality. Nearly 32 crore citizens have been successfully lifted out of poverty, and free food grains are being provided to 80 crore underprivileged citizens.

Shinde claimed that the construction of roads, bridges, highways, railways, airports, and other infrastructure has scaled unprecedented heights under the current leadership. More infrastructure has been built in the last 12 years than in the entire period prior to 2014. He cited former PM Rajiv Gandhi’s remark that out of every rupee sent from the Centre, only 15 paise reached the actual beneficiary.

“This clearly illustrated the corruption of that era. In contrast, the Modi government implemented the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, ensuring funds are deposited directly into beneficiaries' bank accounts. For PM Modi, it is ‘Nation First,’ whereas for the opposition, it is ‘Corruption First,’” he stated.

Lashing out at Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, Shinde accused him of consistently defaming Prime Minister Modi and India, whether on domestic or international soil. He alleged that Gandhi even cast aspersions on Indian soldiers during Operation Sindhu, advising them to stay and work consistently within the country for at least a year. “The more the opposition targets PM Modi, the more resiliently the public will stand behind him,” Shinde said, dismissing Gandhi’s claims that Modi will not remain Prime Minister for long.

Taking a swipe at the opposition alliance, Shinde asked, “The face of the NDA is Narendra Modi, but who is the face of the INDIA bloc?” He claimed that unity within the opposition is fracturing, citing recent electoral losses by alliance partners.

Clarifying the internal dynamics of the state government, Shinde stated that he and Devendra Fadnavis previously worked as a team when Fadnavis was the Chief Minister, and they continue to work together cohesively under Fadnavis’s leadership.

“We participate in all programmes together, and our coordination remains ironclad,” he said.

He concluded by reiterating that the Mahayuti alliance’s battle is not for power or positions, but for the comprehensive development of Maharashtra. Extending his best wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shinde lauded his 12 years of transformative leadership.
