Jackie Shroff and Sharad Kelkar’s Rural Horror Film ‘Kheti’ Unveils Chilling First Look

Jackie Shroff and Sharad Kelkar's Rural Horror Film 'Kheti' Unveils Chilling First Look

The first look of upcoming rural horror film Kheti is finally out, and it has already started creating buzz among horror fans online. Headlined by Jackie Shroff, Sharad Kelkar, and Neha Sargam, the film promises a dark and atmospheric horror experience rooted in rural India.

Written and directed by Haris Imtiyaz Khan, Kheti is being produced by Sana Khan under the banner of BlackCanvas Studio. The cast also includes veteran actors Virendra Saxena and Shaji Choudhary in important roles.

The makers unveiled a haunting 16-second first-look video that instantly grabbed attention for its eerie visual tone. The teaser features a static but unsettling poster image showing a man’s intense eyes staring through wet green foliage, creating a mysterious field-like atmosphere. The stylized title KHETI slowly emerges on screen before ending with the words “in cinemas coming soon,” leaving viewers intrigued about the horror lurking within the story.

Even though the teaser reveals very little about the plot, social media reactions have already been overwhelmingly curious and positive. Many users praised the film’s “rural horror” concept, noting that Indian horror cinema rarely explores fear through village landscapes and grounded realism. Fans also expressed excitement over Sharad Kelkar’s involvement, especially considering his commanding screen presence and deep voice, which many believe perfectly suits the horror genre.

Jackie Shroff’s appearance in the first-look announcement has also become a major talking point. Known for effortlessly blending intensity and unpredictability into his performances, the veteran actor’s inclusion has added another layer of intrigue to the project. Audiences are now eager to know whether the film will lean toward supernatural horror, psychological terror, or folk-inspired storytelling rooted in rural mythology.

One of the biggest reasons behind the early buzz is the hope that Kheti could deliver a genuinely scary Indian horror film without relying on overused Bollywood horror formulas. Several reactions online praised the dark visuals and grounded atmosphere of the first-look poster, calling it refreshing and visually striking compared to mainstream horror offerings.

With rural horror increasingly becoming an exciting unexplored space in Indian cinema, Kheti has already positioned itself as one of the more intriguing upcoming genre films to watch out for. While the makers are yet to reveal detailed plot information or a release date, the eerie first-look reveal has successfully sparked curiosity among movie lovers.
