New Delhi, May 12 (SocialNews.XYZ) Union Minister for Food, Public Distribution, and Consumer Affairs Pralhad Joshi has slammed the Congress government in Karnataka, alleging that it is immersed only in price hikes, appeasement politics, and internal power struggles among Members of the Legislative Assembly and ministers.
He said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was “wasting time criticising others instead of fixing his own house”.
Responding sharply to the Chief Minister’s statement that PM Modi’s speech was “full of lies and hatred”, Joshi challenged Siddaramaiah on Tuesday to first answer questions regarding his government’s administrative failures and internal fights for power before criticising the Prime Minister.
Joshi said the true nature of the Congress government, which he claimed excels only in advertisements, has now been exposed.
He listed what he described as several administrative failures of the State government and launched a strong attack against it.
Under the pretext of guarantee schemes, the Congress government has pushed Karnataka into a debt trap, he alleged.
Development activities have come to a complete standstill, roads are filled with potholes, and pending payments to contractors have still not been cleared. Meanwhile, common people are being burdened daily with rising prices, he charged.
Joshi further criticised Siddaramaiah, saying that although the Chief Minister often projects himself as an “economic expert”, he has pushed Karnataka’s economy into decline.
He alleged that governance has gone off track due to a power tussle within the government. On top of that, the government has betrayed the people by increasing the prices of 48 essential commodities, including milk and fuel, he said.
Pralhad Joshi said PM Modi had delivered a positive message to the people, keeping the nation’s interests in mind, but the Chief Minister was mocking it, which, he said, reflected Siddaramaiah’s irresponsible leadership.
Joshi defended the Prime Minister, stating that India’s economy had declined during the tenure of the United Progressive Alliance government, but under PM Modi’s leadership, India has emerged as the world’s fourth-largest economy.
He challenged Siddaramaiah to answer questions about the power struggle and administrative paralysis within his own government before questioning others.
Under Siddaramaiah’s administration, Karnataka’s debt has risen sharply, and the revenue deficit has reached historically high levels, breaking all previous records, Joshi alleged.
Referring to Siddaramaiah’s use of the word “betrayal”, Joshi said the Chief Minister should first speak about the betrayal being inflicted on Congress allies. He accused the Congress party of repeatedly betraying its alliance partners, dividing regional mandates, and toppling several governments.
