Jaipur, April 30 (SocialNews.XYZ) The self-enumeration process for the first phase of the Census will be conducted in Jaipur district from May 1 to May 15, 2026, with residents able to complete the process online through the official portal (https://se.census.gov.in) using a desktop computer or smartphone.
Principal Census Officer and District Collector Sandesh Nayak has appealed to all residents of the district to actively participate in the self-enumeration process and ensure accurate data submission.
He advised citizens not to share their One-Time Password (OTP) with enumerators during home visits for verification purposes. He also clarified that even after completing self-enumeration, an enumerator will visit households to verify and cross-check the submitted data as part of the official process.
During the self-enumeration process, users will be able to review their entries on a “Preview” screen and make necessary corrections if required. However, once the data is “Finally Submitted”, it cannot be edited online.
Any required corrections can subsequently be made during the enumerator’s visit to the household.
The district administration has completed all necessary preparations for the upcoming Census 2027 exercise, officials said.
As part of the preparatory work, the Census pre-test was successfully conducted by November 2025 in Wards 55, 56, and 63 of the Kishanpole Zone under the Jaipur Heritage Municipal Corporation.
The process of “boundary freezing”, along with verification of administrative unit maps and lists, was completed by December 31, 2025, to ensure administrative stability during the Census period.
To ensure smooth implementation, Census Cells have been established at both district and charge levels. A total of 5,277 enumeration blocks have been created in the district, with 4,779 enumerators and 780 supervisors appointed for the exercise.
Training of all officials and personnel associated with the Census has also been completed in phases to ensure preparedness at all operational levels.
The notification for the House Listing and Housing Census was issued on January 22, 2026. District-level training for senior officials was conducted from February 10 to 11, followed by training for District Census Cell staff from February 16 to 18, and additional training for Charge Officers and other officials from February 19 to 20, 2026.
All tasks under the Census Management and Monitoring System (CMMS), including ID mapping, block creation, and preparation of personnel lists, have been completed, officials added.
The House Listing and Housing Census will be conducted from May 16 to June 14, 2026, following the self-enumeration phase.
The second phase, involving population enumeration, is scheduled for February 2027 as part of the nationwide Census exercise.
The District Collector has directed all officials to carry out the self-enumeration and house listing processes with utmost seriousness and diligence.
He has also urged public representatives and citizens to maximise participation and ensure widespread use of the self-enumeration portal to facilitate a smooth and accurate Census process.
