Sai Pallavi Opens Up on Her Hindi Debut 'Ek Din': "I Am Nervous, But It Has Been a Beautiful Journey"

The buzz around Ek Din continues to grow as the film’s cast and crew came together for a special musical event in Mumbai. The evening saw the presence of Sai Pallavi, Aamir Khan, Junaid Khan, and debut director Sunil Pandey, as the team celebrated the journey of a film that marks a significant milestone for Sai Pallavi—her Hindi film debut.

Known for her natural performances and strong screen presence in South Indian cinema, Sai Pallavi opened up about stepping into a new industry and language. She admitted, “This is going to be my first Hindi film, and—I wish you’d give it up for that!—I’m actually quite nervous, but it has been an absolutely beautiful journey. Thank you so much to the entire team. Junaid was an absolutely wonderful co-star—just like an obedient child! Actually, it’s so nice; I had a great time. Thank you so much. I didn't actually prepare what I wanted to say today, but... please forgive me; there is just so much love in my heart for all of you. And thank you so much.”

Reflecting on her career so far, she added a heartfelt note about gratitude and growth: “When I look back at my journey in the industry—I don't know exactly what work I've done—but I felt a deep sense of happiness knowing that whatever I did do has brought me into a room filled with people who are so incredibly talented. I ended up feeling incredibly humbled.” Her honesty and emotional vulnerability struck a chord with the audience, highlighting why she is so widely admired.

The evening also witnessed an emotional moment from Aamir Khan, who was visibly moved during the celebration. While social media quickly reacted to the moment, Sai Pallavi offered a warm and refreshing perspective on it. She said, “And—well, Aamir Sir is crazy enough to get that emotional in public—but although I loved my seat, I sometimes wished the lights were dimmed so that I could, you know, let my emotions show a little more freely.” Her comment added a light-hearted yet sincere touch to the emotional atmosphere of the event.

Directed by Sunil Pandey and produced by Aamir Khan, Mansoor Khan, and Aparna Purohit under Aamir Khan Productions, Ek Din is an official remake of the 2016 Thai film One Day. The story revolves around Rohan, a man silently in love with his colleague Meera, who is granted a magical opportunity to spend just one day with her—an experience that changes everything.

Originally scheduled for release in November 2025, Ek Din will now hit theatres on May 1, 2026. With its emotional storyline, soulful music, and strong performances, the film is already being seen as one of the most anticipated romantic dramas of the year.
