Yash Calls Toxic An Ambitious And Layered Cinematic Experience

Superstar Yash is gearing up for one of the most intriguing films of his career with Toxic A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups, and the buzz around the project is only getting stronger. Known for pushing boundaries and redefining larger-than-life characters, Yash has now opened up about what makes this film stand out. According to him, “Toxic” is not just another gangster drama but a deeply layered cinematic experience that blends action with psychology and emotional depth.

Talking about the film, Yash said, “Toxic is also a very ambitious film. for the first time I think we have shot the film in English as well. So as a concept of the film, it's very layered. Once again, it's not a typical gangster action story. For the face value, it will look like a gangster movie with a lot of action, but it has got deep psychology and it's got very interesting aspects of human life where you can resonate with and uh it's a very unique way to present a dark character is what I feel. It was very exciting and some of the best technicians, my director Geetu Mohandas has really given a new take on a gangster film and I think I enjoyed it. It's going to be a visual treat as well as something which makes a huge impact on audience psychology as well.”

What makes this project even more exciting is the creative risk it takes. Yash further shared his perspective on playing complex roles and what makes “Toxic” a fresh experience for him. He said, “See it's I've never done I although I've played gangster characters as I told you I love playing uh dark characters because as an actor you get a lot of things to explore. There is no boundary when you play a dark character. So this movie had many shades of those characters and lot lots of looks and lots of uh performers great actors have come together to put it together like in India if I have to say it's a world on its own. So you go 200 kilometres from one particular state you you'll find another language there. So it's full of different culture different kind of uh languages people speak. So to bring it together, I think recently we have figured a way to dub films and as a concept everybody watches it as pan India films means a film which caters to all the audience. telling this is one of those films with uh lot of commercial aspects as well as a new way a fresh way of storytelling which is going to be a very unique experience for Indians”.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, “Toxic” promises to be a visual and narrative spectacle. The film features Yash in a dual role, alongside a stellar cast including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth. With such a diverse ensemble, the film aims to bring together different styles of performance and storytelling under one ambitious vision.

On the technical front, the film boasts an impressive lineup. Cinematography is handled by Rajeev Ravi, known for his distinct visual language, while the music is composed by a talented team including Ravi Basrur, Vishal Mishra, Tanishk Bagchi, Faheem Abdullah, and Arslan Nizami. This collaboration hints at a rich audio-visual experience that complements the film’s layered narrative.

Set to release worldwide on June 4, 2026, “Toxic” is already being seen as a game-changer in the pan-India film space. With its mix of commercial appeal, psychological depth, and experimental storytelling, the film is expected to offer something fresh and thought-provoking for audiences. If Yash’s words are anything to go by, “Toxic” might just redefine how gangster dramas are perceived in Indian cinema.
