Jackky Bhagnani Eyes FALTU Sequel but Refuses to Compromise on Story

Actor Jackky Bhagnani has sparked fresh excitement among fans by confirming that a sequel to his debut film F.A.L.T.U is definitely on the cards—just not anytime soon without the right script. The actor, who made his Bollywood entry with the youthful campus entertainer, shared that while the intention to revisit the story is strong, he is unwilling to rush into a follow-up that doesn’t live up to expectations.

Speaking on the sidelines of the cultural event Sindhi Varso at KC College in Mumbai, Jackky opened up about the emotional connection audiences still have with the film. He said, “Of course, it feels wonderful! Whether you are an actor—or involved in any creative field—if someone shares something you’ve done, it feels gratifying. That is precisely what we work for. We work for the people, and we strive to make a positive impact on their lives. There is no greater sense of achievement than that.”

Addressing the much-awaited FALTU Part 2, Jackky made it clear that quality remains his top priority. He explained, “I am currently looking for a story. Do let me know if you have any interesting stories in mind. I have spoken to Remo D'Souza about this many times, but I will definitely do it—because, deep down, people really want a Part 2. Part 1 holds such a special place in people's hearts that if we were to create something substandard, people would inevitably say, ‘Oh man, they ruined it.’ Therefore, we shouldn't proceed until we find a story that feels like a perfect 10 out of 10 to us.”

Beyond the sequel talk, the actor also got candid about returning to his alma mater, KC College, as a Chief Guest. The moment was deeply personal for him, as he reflected on his journey from being a student with big dreams to standing on the same stage as a successful actor. “It feels wonderful! While I have served as a Chief Guest at many events, returning to your own college brings a unique sense of achievement. You have walked these halls as a student, dreaming about the future—and today, by God's grace, here I am.”

The visit also triggered a wave of nostalgia. Jackky shared how watching the students and performances reminded him of his own college days. “I felt a tremendous wave of nostalgia. It brought back vivid memories of sitting in the crowd myself—watching people from the film industry and the business world come up to the stage. And today, I’m standing there—it’s truly special.”

Released in 2011 and directed by Remo D'Souza, F.A.L.T.U—short for Fakirchand and Lakirchand Trust University—was produced by Vashu Bhagnani under the banner Pooja Entertainment. The film struck a chord with young audiences for its satirical take on the education system and its lighthearted storytelling.

While fans may have to wait a little longer for the sequel, Jackky Bhagnani’s commitment to getting it right suggests that FALTU Part 2—whenever it happens—will aim to match, if not surpass, the charm of the original.
