New Delhi, April 1 (SocialNews.XYZ) BJP President Nitin Nabin on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during his roadshow in Kerala's Kannur, accusing opposition parties of collusion and failure to deliver for the people of Kerala.
Nabin, who began his roadshow from Vayanthode Junction in Mattannur and proceeded towards Thalassery Road Link Mall Junction, dismissed Rahul Gandhi’s allegation that the BJP and the Left Democratic Front (LDF) are working in tandem.
“They are match-fixers; they have already fixed the match before the election. Both India and Keralam have seen how they manipulated matters during the UPA government’s tenure. They have done nothing for the people of Kerala,” he told IANS.
Escalating his criticism, the BJP leader also targeted Rahul Gandhi over the Sabarimala issue, accusing him and the Congress leadership of politicising the matter.
“Rahul Gandhi should feel ashamed. They are politicising the Sabarimala issue. The real culprits behind the Sabarimala matter are Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, as well as the LDF and UDF governments,” Nabin said. He added that the Bharatiya Janata Party has committed to a “time-bound inquiry through the CBI” and ensuring accountability for those responsible.
Projecting the BJP as an emerging political alternative in the state, Nabin expressed confidence in the party’s growing support base.
“I believe that Keralam is fully prepared to move forward with PM Narendra Modi. The people of Keralam are now seeing the BJP as a real alternative. For a long time, the LDF and UDF neglected the people here, hindered development, increased corruption, and prioritised their own families over the welfare of the public,” he said.
He further claimed that sectors like tourism had suffered under previous governments and that people were now ready to embrace change under PM Modi’s leadership.
Kerala will go to the polls in a single phase on April 9, as per the schedule announced by the Election Commission. The counting of votes will take place on May 4, along with other states holding Assembly elections.
