Nani Introduces New Character ‘Biryani’ in Upcoming Telugu Action Thriller The Paradise

Actor Nani recently took to social media to unveil a brand-new character from his highly anticipated Telugu film The Paradise. Sharing a poster of Sampoornesh Babu as Biryani, Nani captioned the post, “Sampoo as BIRYANI 🙂 #TheParadise @sampoornesh”, highlighting the actor’s surprising shift from comedy to a gritty, axe-wielding persona. Fans have responded with excitement, eager to see this darker take from Sampoornesh in the film’s post-apocalyptic setting.

Directed by Srikanth Odela, who previously collaborated with Nani on the 2023 hit Dasara, The Paradise promises to be a raw and intense cinematic experience. Nani himself plays Jadal, a rugged and determined leader of a marginalized tribe fighting against systemic oppression in 1980s Secunderabad. Describing the project as India’s version of Mad Max, Nani has emphasized its wild, unapologetic, and global storytelling approach.

The film’s ensemble cast includes Mohan Babu, Sonali Kulkarni, and Raghav Juyal, with the latter reportedly playing the antagonist. The addition of Sampoornesh Babu as Biryani introduces a serious and formidable ally to Nani’s character, contrasting his previous comedic roles and adding layers to the high-stakes action narrative. With Anirudh Ravichander composing the score and G.K. Vishnu handling cinematography, the production promises top-tier technical and musical execution.

Currently, as of December 2025, production is actively underway in Hyderabad, with elaborate sets designed to resemble an “empire” slum, reflecting the film’s large-scale ambition. The Paradise is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on March 26, 2026, and is planned to premiere in eight languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, English, and Spanish, signaling a pan-global approach.
