At the heart of the story is Avi Haddad, Miami’s self-styled “Prince of Crime,” who gathers a mismatched group of veterans and ex-cons, each with ghosts of their own. Armed with a dubious map and fueled by greed, they trek through the jungle to find the treasure—allegedly hidden near a place ominously called “Heirs Village.” What starts as a get-rich mission quickly descends into paranoia and bloodshed, haunted by tales of those who once sought the same gold and never returned. The deeper they go, the tighter the air feels—part sweat, part fear, and part betrayal waiting to happen.
Complicating Avi’s already risky venture is Sandy Ross, his sharp and mysterious lawyer. After an accidental killing wrecks her career, Avi convinces her to tag along, believing she might bring him luck. But Sandy isn’t there for luck—she’s got her own sins to bury. Her secrets slowly unravel, blurring the line between ally and threat, between lover and enemy. As the jungle closes in, so does the truth about who the real predator is.
Written and directed by Israeli filmmaker Orit Sher in her feature debut, Escobank also credits Sharon Shaked for additional writing, with production led by Yaron Nativ and support from Shirly Balila and Haim Yehezkel. Featuring a cast that includes Zohar Liba, Dana Frider, Angel Bonnani, and Harlys Becerra, the film seems to revel in its chaotic mix of treasure-hunting absurdity and low-budget charm.
