No Gossip On De De Pyaar De 2 Set Says Gautami Kapoor

Actor Gautami Kapoor, who plays the poised and protective Mrs. Khurana—mother to Rakul Preet Singh’s character Ayesha—in the upcoming De De Pyaar De 2, has shared some light-hearted behind-the-scenes moments from the film’s set. And while fans may be expecting some juicy gossip from a big Bollywood ensemble, Gautami is here to disappoint (in the nicest way possible).

When asked whether film or television sets are more prone to gossip, Gautami replied with a laugh: “Gossip is everywhere, regardless of film set or TV set—it happens on every set. But it didn’t happen on our set of De De Pyaar De 2, because we got along very well, so there was no chance of gossip… unfortunately.”

The camaraderie clearly ran deep among the star-studded cast, which includes Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, R. Madhavan, Jaaved Jaaferi, Meezaan Jafri, Ishita Dutta, Sanjeev Seth, and more. With such a dynamic lineup, it seems the fun was more about bonding than backbiting.

A sequel to the 2019 hit De De Pyaar De, the new film continues its mix of family drama, awkward age-gap romance, and comedy—but with a twist. This time, it’s the parents (played by R. Madhavan and Gautami Kapoor) who step in to stir the pot. Directed by Anshul Sharma, written by Luv Ranjan and Tarun Jain, and produced by T-Series Films and Luv Films, the film is expected to blend emotional depth with laugh-out-loud moments.

For Gautami, who began her acting journey in television before transitioning to films and web series, De De Pyaar De 2 marks another strong addition to her filmography. And while the film might be full of chaos on screen, off-screen it seems to have been a smooth, supportive, and gossip-free ride.

De De Pyaar De 2 is slated to release in cinemas on 14 November 2025.
