Exit Protocol Trailer Promises More of the Same Action Tropes

Saban Films has dropped the official trailer for Exit Protocol, a new action film directed by Shane Dax Taylor, hitting select U.S. theaters and VOD on November 7, 2025. The setup will be familiar to genre fans: a notorious hitman, famed for eliminating other assassins, wants out of the killing game—but as always, walking away is not an option. Marked for death by his own boss, he begrudgingly teams up with a former mark to outrun the killers now on their trail.

The film stars Scott Martin, Dolph Lundgren, Charlotte Kirk, Lina Maya, Stephanie Beran, and Michael Jai White, bringing together a cast accustomed to this brand of high-octane mercenary drama. Written by Chad Law and produced by Michael Slifkin, Jack Sheehan, Daniel Cummings, and Scott Martin, Exit Protocol leans heavily into the classic “one last job” template while mixing in reluctant alliances and rapid-fire gunplay.

Director Shane Dax Taylor—whose past works include The Best Man, The Christmas Classic, and Murder Company—once again takes on a tale steeped in stylized violence and familiar beats. From gritty shootouts to tense back-alley escapes, the trailer suggests a film packed with genre clichés but aiming to deliver on adrenaline-fueled entertainment.

While Exit Protocol may not reinvent the action wheel, fans of hired-gun thrillers and star-powered showdowns might find enough in it to fill a Friday night. Whether its execution matches the promise will be known when it lands this fall.
