Rasika Dugal on Lord Curzon Ki Haveli: "I've Always Felt It's My Job to Maintain Peace in a Room"

At the trailer launch of Lord Curzon Ki Haveli in Mumbai, acclaimed actor Rasika Dugal opened up about how personally connected she felt to her character in the film—so much so that it reflected her own inner conditioning.

In a candid moment with the media, Rasika said, “For the first time, I felt that this character really had backing from the writing, so my job became easy. And I thought I should give myself some opportunity.” She added that the character reminded her of many women she grew up around—and of herself. “Even till now, every time I enter a room, I feel it’s my responsibility to maintain peace in that room. And in the first half of the film, my character does that a lot. Then that changes. I was really moved by that shift.”

Her character, Ira, is at the heart of the upcoming black comedy thriller, where four individuals come together for what seems like an ordinary dinner—until one of them, played by Arjun Mathur, casually reveals there’s a corpse in his car trunk. The film then spirals into chaos, tension, and unexpected truths.

Directed by Anshuman Jha in his directorial debut, the film features a stellar cast including Paresh Pahuja, Zoha Rahman, and Tanmay Dhanania, with veteran Garrick Hagon also joining in for some Hitchcockian intrigue. Produced by Golden Ratio Films and First Ray Films, it’s being billed as an Indian twist on classic suspense with a darkly comic edge.

The film releases in theatres on October 11, 2025, and Rasika’s heartfelt comments suggest it’s more than just a genre piece—it’s a mirror to subtle, unspoken emotional dynamics, especially the ones women silently carry.
