Anshuman Jha Calls Arjun Mathur the Best in India at Lord Curzon Ki Haveli Trailer Launch

The trailer launch of Lord Curzon Ki Haveli, an upcoming Hindi black comedy thriller, turned into a celebration of collaboration and admiration, as actor-turned-director Anshuman Jha took the mic to express heartfelt gratitude toward his ensemble cast at the Mumbai event.

Joining him were actors Rasika Dugal, Arjun Mathur, Paresh Pahuja, Tanmay Dhanania, and others, who star in the cleverly twisted story of four dinner guests whose evening takes a wild turn when one of them announces there’s a corpse in the trunk of his car. What starts as dark humor soon spirals into a night of shocking revelations.

Speaking to the media, Anshuman Jha didn’t hold back his admiration for his cast. “The best in India is called Arjun Mathur, hands down,” he said. “I wouldn’t have made this film if Arjun and Rasika hadn’t said yes. I told them that when I first narrated the script.” That level of trust, he added, was crucial in bringing this suspenseful and stylized film to life.

Jha also showered praise on Paresh Pahuja, saying, “I love and admire him. I’m sure you’ve all seen his graph rising. He will be one of the biggest—if not the biggest—stars in India soon. This is, I feel, his best performance yet.” Interestingly, Jha revealed that Paresh stepped into the role at the last moment after another actor dropped out.

He also applauded Tanmay Dhanania, saying he’s been “a huge fan for years,” cementing the director’s eye for talent beyond the mainstream.

With an ensemble that includes Zoha Rahman and Garrick Hagon (Star Wars fans will recognize him as Biggs Darklighter), Lord Curzon Ki Haveli blends twisted dinner party suspense with biting social satire—described by many as a desi nod to Alfred Hitchcock.

Produced by Golden Ratio Films and First Ray Films, the movie is slated for a theatrical release on 11 October 2025 and has already piqued the curiosity of cinephiles looking for something sharp, smart, and darkly funny.
