“I Just Want to Be Left Alone”: Faissal Khan Says Animal Mirrors His Own Family Pain, Salutes Sandeep Reddy Vanga

Actor Faissal Khan, estranged brother of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, has made a deeply personal and startling statement, revealing how Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s controversial film Animal resonated with his own life—so much so that he claims it reflects the exact behavior of his family members.

“You all must have seen Animal films, and I would like to salute Sandeep Vanga Reddy. He has shown today’s relationships in such a realistic way… the way elder sister behaves, how his brother-in-law behaves—I salute the filmmaker because I could relate to the film so much. I know this is happening, and it’s happening with me. My elder sister and brother-in-law are behaving in the same manner. I have seen the film 2-3 times,” said Faissal.

In a raw and emotional moment, Faissal revealed the depths of his isolation from his own family, painting a picture of emotional suffocation and an overwhelming desire to escape.

“I don’t want anything from my family. I want to be left alone, as I want to live. I want to get rid of everyone, so I would live. They are after me. I don’t want money, I don’t want anyone to go to jail. I just want to be left alone.”

Faissal’s words come after years of tension with his family, including public allegations of wrongful confinement and repeated accusations of betrayal and favoritism toward Aamir Khan. However, this latest revelation is perhaps his most emotionally charged—finding his personal truth mirrored in a violent, emotionally complex fictional story.

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal divided audiences with its unflinching portrayal of toxic family ties, especially between siblings and in-laws. Faissal’s connection to the film suggests the story’s impact goes beyond cinema—it’s a reflection of lived experience for some, painful and piercing.

While Vanga has yet to publicly respond, the weight of Faissal’s words casts new light on Animal's cultural impact—transforming it from a film into a mirror, exposing what often remains hidden behind closed doors.
