Anurag Kashyap Unveils Nishaanchi Poster, Teaser Drops Tomorrow

Director Anurag Kashyap, known for his signature gritty storytelling and razor-sharp dialogue, is back with a new project titled Nishaanchi. On social media, Kashyap shared a bold new poster for the upcoming crime drama and announced that the teaser will release tomorrow, August 8, 2025. The film is slated for a theatrical release on September 19, 2025.

Kashyap, in his inimitable style, wrote: "Aaj poster aur kal milegi pehli jhalak – style bhi hoga, dialogue baazi bhi! Teaser dropping tomorrow!" — a promise that the film will deliver on both visual flair and classic, punchy one-liners.

Nishaanchi stars Aaishvary Thackeray — the grandson of late Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray — making his major film debut after stepping away from a political future to pursue acting. He’s joined by Vedika Pinto, Monika Panwar, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and Kumud Mishra, forming a mix of newcomers and seasoned performers. The cast hints at Kashyap’s long-standing knack for assembling unconventional ensembles that challenge Bollywood norms.

Billed as a crime drama laced with themes of redemption, Nishaanchi is expected to echo the dark, grounded storytelling Kashyap is known for — much like his cult hit Gangs of Wasseypur (2012), which turned raw violence and social decay into cinematic gold.

The film is produced by Ajay Rai and Ranjan Singh under JAR Pictures, in association with Flip Films, and marks a rare collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios and Jio Studios, signaling the film's international ambitions and scale.

With Sylvester Fonseca on cinematography, Aarti Bajaj editing, and music contributions from Arijit Singh, Dhruv Ghanekar, and Manan Bhardwaj, the creative line-up suggests Nishaanchi will be just as rich in style and sound as it is in story.
