Amol Parashar Partners with Homi Bhabha Centre to Boost Awareness for IOAA 2025 Hosted by India

Actor and IIT Delhi alumnus Amol Parashar is championing a cause close to his roots — science education. The TVF Tripling and Sardar Udham star recently visited the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) in Mumbai to support outreach efforts for the upcoming International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) 2025, which India will host from August 11 to 21.

The IOAA is among the most prestigious global science competitions for school students, drawing participation from over 64 countries. With India as the host nation this year, a range of awareness initiatives are underway to spark interest in astronomy and astrophysics — and Amol’s involvement added a unique blend of relatability and inspiration.

During his visit, Amol toured the Centre’s state-of-the-art labs, engaged in lively discussions with students and faculty, and dived into topics ranging from space-time theory to moon missions and galactic collisions.

Reflecting on the experience, Amol said: "It was a fun and eye-opening day. I had a great time chatting with the students about everything from space-time to the moon to colliding galaxies. Their curiosity was infectious. It also made me miss my own engineering college days."

The session was hosted by Professor Arnab Bhattacharya, Director of HBCSE, who walked Amol through the Centre’s ongoing work and the meticulous preparations for the IOAA 2025.

Ranked AIR 238 in the IIT-JEE, Amol has long embraced his passion for science and critical thinking. While best known for his versatile acting, his academic background continues to strike a chord with young learners who admire his ability to blend intellect and creativity. His recent performances in Kull and Gram Chikitsalay — both 2025 hits — have only amplified his popularity.
