Set in the harsh and isolated terrains of Alaska, The Last Frontier follows Frank Remnick (played by Clarke), the lone U.S. marshal overseeing a quiet and rugged outpost. His tranquil jurisdiction is shattered when a prison transport plane crashes, unleashing a horde of dangerous convicts into the wilderness. As Remnick scrambles to protect the community he’s sworn to serve, he uncovers unsettling clues that suggest the crash was not an accident, but the first move in a deadly, calculated conspiracy.
The series is created and written by Jon Bokenkamp (creator of The Blacklist) and Richard D’Ovidio (The Call), with additional writing by Melissa Glenn. Direction duties are shared among John Curran, Dennie Gordon, Jessica Lowrey, and Sam Hargrave, promising a mix of intense character drama and high-stakes action.
With its stark setting, layered characters, and a looming sense of dread, The Last Frontier is shaping up to be one of Apple TV+’s most ambitious originals of the year. The teaser offers only brief flashes of what’s to come—but the tension, grit, and mystery are palpable.
The Last Frontier is set to premiere on October 10, 2025, exclusively on Apple TV+, and is already generating buzz as a must-watch fall release.
