“I Would Like To Do Bigg Boss Once,” Says Leena Jumani as She Ventures into Vertical Format Storytelling

Television actress Leena Jumani, known for her memorable role in Kumkum Bhagya, is branching out into new territories — both in terms of format and genre. The actress is making her debut in vertical-format storytelling with Tic Toc Timeout, a bite-sized series streaming on ALTT as part of their new Kutingg Hotshots content style. While promoting the show, Leena candidly revealed her desire to explore reality television, particularly Bigg Boss, sparking buzz among her fans and followers.

“Reality shows are really interesting,” Leena shared while speaking with the media. “Your real personality is showcased, you present yourself as you are. I would like to do some of those shows, like dancing shows, even Bigg Boss. I’m not sure if I will be able to do it or not, or how long I’ll survive on the show, but I would like to try that — for once, I should do the show.” Her statement offers a glimpse into a more spontaneous and daring side of the actress, who has largely been known for her scripted performances in drama-heavy television.

In Tic Toc Timeout, Leena plays Tanya, a pivotal character who helps shift the emotional arc of the male lead, Abhi, played by Ruslaan Mumtaz. The story follows Abhi, a celebrated surgeon tormented by the death of his son during surgery, who signs up for a mysterious service called “How to Die Smiling.” As he prepares to end his life in just seven days, fate introduces him to Tanya — and love. The series dives deep into themes of grief, healing, and unexpected romance, told in one-minute episodes designed to be consumed as mobile reels.

Speaking about the challenges of working in a vertical format, Leena said, “This was my first experience with the vertical format. It has some restrictions of the frame. In other formats, you get space to work, but in this, you’ve got this limited space of frame and you have to perform within that. But it was fun, I enjoyed it. Acting remains the same, whether it’s horizontal or vertical.” She further added that the series is “easy to watch,” urging viewers to check it out: “It is full of entertainment, everyone should watch it at least once.”

When asked about her biggest takeaway from Tic Toc Timeout, Leena shared a poignant message: “If you are going through some hard emotions, don’t be in a hurry. Take some time. Let it heal. Give some time to yourself and your emotions. Go through it. Don’t be in a haste to take a life-changing decision which you might regret later.” The show, produced under ALTT’s new Kutingg Hotshots banner, is being hailed for its bold storytelling approach and mobile-first viewing experience. With emotional depth, suspense, and unconventional romance, Tic Toc Timeout is quickly becoming a standout in the evolving landscape of Indian digital content.
