Tahir recalled his initial reaction to Special Ops Season 1: “First of all, I clearly remember enjoying season 1 of Special Ops. I remember when I saw that trailer first, I was blown away, first and foremost with the pride that it was on an Indian platform, because five years ago it was really a big deal and scale of it.”
Receiving the call from Neeraj Pandey’s office was a dream come true for Tahir. “So, when I got that call from Neeraj Pandey’s office, I was very flattered and humbled. I have been a fan of Neeraj’s work, I have grown watching A Wednesday and Special 26, so it was a very humbling phone-call to get. So when you join a hit show, it feels like you’re joining a hostel, where everyone knows everyone, and you’re the new entrant, so I have admit that first few days were little overwhelming, but you gel in fast and get into the part.”
Highlighting the heart of the story, Tahir added: “When I heard the character Sudheer, I was blown away how unpredictable he is, how layered he is and contemporary he is, because he is not someone who needs muscle or weapons, it’s just data and control over that data, he wants. He is a business tycoon who runs this tech-mafia, for me it was so exciting to play because it opens so many relevant questions today, what exactly is the intelligence and what exactly is national security.”
The series boasts a strong ensemble cast including Kay Kay Menon, Vinay Pathak, Prakash Raj, Karan Tacker, Saiyami Kher, Muzammil Ibrahim, Gautami Kapoor, Parmeet Sethi, Kali Prasad Mukherjee, and more.
Special Ops 2 is set to premiere on JioCinema on July 11, promising high-stakes drama and thrilling twists.
