Neena Gupta on Love in Modern Times: “Gen Z Will Find Their Way Back to Simplicity”

As Neena Gupta promotes her eagerly awaited film Metro In Dino, she shared some heartfelt thoughts on love in today’s fast-changing world — especially for the Gen Z crowd navigating the maze of modern relationships.

When asked whether falling in love is simpler or more complicated in this digital era, Neena mused, “I also feel that Gen Z will find their way. Right now, everything is happening organically—people are eating organic food, doing yoga, embracing old-school things. I’m sure they will come back to being simple.”

For Neena, love is about rediscovering the same person time and again. She defined it beautifully, saying, “If you want to spend your life with someone, you must fall in love with the same person over and over again.” A timeless sentiment that rings true, no matter the generation.

Metro In Dino, written and directed by Anurag Basu, is set to release on 4 July 2025. This anthology film explores four stories of contemporary couples, starring a stellar ensemble including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta, and Anupam Kher. It’s a spiritual sequel to Basu’s cult classic Life in a... Metro (2007), delving deeper into the nuances of modern love.

Looking ahead, Neena also revealed, “I am doing Vadh 2, it will be out soon,” keeping fans excited for more from the versatile actress.
