Akshay Kumar Celebrates 15 Years of Housefull Madness with a Double Dose of Chaos

If there’s one thing Akshay Kumar knows how to do better than anyone, it’s making people laugh while everything around him falls into absolute chaos—and he’s been doing it for 15 years straight with the Housefull franchise. Marking this milestone with a heartfelt (and cheeky) video on social media, Akshay thanked fans for sticking with the wild rollercoaster of comedy, confusion, and complete nonsense. His caption summed it up perfectly: “15 years of comedy, confusion & chaos! And this weekend, you gave us a reminder of why we do it.”

 

And what a weekend it’s been! Housefull 5 hit theatres on June 6, 2025, and in true Housefull fashion, it didn’t come quietly. This time, the team upped the madness with two versions of the film—Housefull 5A and 5B—each with a different climax and (wait for it) a different murderer. Yes, the franchise that gave us a man thinking he’s married to a ghost now has a whodunnit twist. Leave it to producer Sajid Nadiadwala to cook up that idea—one he apparently had brewing for over 30 years!

 

Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and backed by a cast that’s clearly in on the joke, the film leans hard into what Housefull does best: slapstick, mistaken identities, and more plot twists than a daily soap opera on fast forward. Critics may have given it mixed reviews (they always do), but audiences showed up in droves, filling theatres and laughing like it’s 2010 all over again. Akshay’s charm, of course, holds the whole madhouse together like superglue wrapped in a punchline.

 

So, what’s next for the Housefull crew? Who knows—maybe a Housefull 6 set in space, or a time-traveling honeymoon gone wrong. But one thing’s for sure: as long as there are doors to slam, lies to unravel, and a confused Akshay Kumar in a sherwani, we’ll be showing up with popcorn in hand and no idea what’s going on. Just the way Housefull fans like it.
