Madhur Bhandakar And Sanjay Dutt Pays Tribute To Nitin Desai

Mumbai, 2nd August 2023 (Newshelpline) - National award winner filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar and actor Sanjay Dutt expresses their grief and shock on the sudden demise of veteran art director and designer Nitni Desai.

Art director and producer, Nitin Chandrakant Desai has died by suicide at the age of 57. He was found dead at his studio in Karjat, Maharashtra. Desai was under financial stress as his studio was not doing well, as reported.

Madhur Bhandarkar, who has collaborated with Nitin on Fashion, Traffic Signal, Jail, Indu Sarkar and more movie, shared a string of picture with him and wrote, “Just heard the devastating news about the passing of multiple National award-winner Art Director Nitin Desai. It's hard to believe. Had the privilege of working with him on four remarkable films. #TrafficSignal, #fashion, #jail & #InduSarkar His immense talent and extrovert personality made every project unforgettable. Indian cinema has lost a true gem. Heartfelt condolences to his family members . We will miss you Dada. #OmShanti.”

Actor Sanjay Dutt also tweeted, “Deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Nitin Desai. A brilliant art director and a good friend, his contribution to Indian cinema has been monumental. My thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.”

Desai rose to fame with his work in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 1994 film, 1942: A Love Story. He also designed the set of Slumdog Millionaire 2008.

Other films to the credit of the late art director include, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, Dostana, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Munnabhai MBBS, Mission Kashmir, Josh and Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, among many others.
