The 24-minute piece was part of Scorsese's thesis at New York University where she studied film. It's a drama based on a young woman, Lexi, whose life has unraveled after caring for her ill mother and coping with her father who struggles with substance abuse. While the characters were fictional, the premise of the film was personal to Scorsese. (June 16)
