Chennai, July 18 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Tamil Nadu Police on Monday warned of stringent action against those who were circulating a fake and misleading video on the Kallakurichi incident
Superintendent of Police, Kallakurichi, R. Selvakumar who was injured in the stone pelting violent protests on Sunday, warned that if any individual or groups were seen circulating the fake video linking to the death of the Class 12 student, strict police action would be meted out.
He said that some persons were spreading fake news and circulating a video that was in no way connected to the incident reported in the private school, and which has been taken up for investigation following complaints.
The Kallakurichi Superintendent of Police said that the fake video which was being circulated is related to the theft of a laptop that took place in a government school in Salem district.
State police intelligence commenced investigation into the perpetrators of violence on Sunday after the Madras High Court came down heavily on those who had instigated the violence. The court had said that the peaceful protests that were taking place since Wednesday suddenly turned into violent ones due to some planning and had called upon the state police to conduct a detailed investigation of the incidents that had led to the violence at Kallakurichi.
The private residential school was vandalised and many school buses and four police vehicles were torched. Justice Satish Kumar said that the actions on Sunday had given a feeling that Tamil Nadu is turning into a state of lawlessness and called upon the police not to allow such a situation.
